And as a person who has owned both. I can say the extra 15 hp and 400 tq make my 6.7 considerably quicker getting up to speed. Especially when towing.
The torque number merely indicates the engine operates at roughly half the speed, not that it makes more power; the overall output is similar. 800ft/lbs at 2500 is exactly the same as 400 ft/lbs at 5000 after the transmission has at it. Youtube it, the diesel aint that much quicker, not $8000 quicler for sure.
