Thanks for the replies. I have read on this and other sites about "locking out 6th gear." Had time to experiment with this during my trip. On descending hills trans would go into OD and would have to downshift to 3rd to maintain speed on the next hill. So I locked out 6th to eliminate the number downshifts as well as have a higher RPM starting the next climb. These were hills from Livingston, TX to Tyler, TX. Wanting to take a trip sometime to Big Bend and see how the truck performs on steeper climbs.
