The Ram 1500 uses the 5.7 and they have to worry about EPA mileage in the half ton trucks. They already have the engine... why not offer it?
My Tundra with the 5.7 has slightly less power and handles my needs perfectly. When the family grows and I need more payload, the Ram 2500 with the 5.7 would be a perfect vehicle. No real mountains on the east coast to worry about...
OP, glad you made a decision. For $1500 more, I think its a great and easy decision to upgrade to the 6.4. Enjoy it and put the miles on!
