Minimum to be added to a traditional TT with family of 4 would be approx. 12-1500 lbs! I'm at 2000 lbs because i have the room and a 4100 lb CCC.
Trailers can be found with a slideout in the 4500-5000lb dry range.
Good luck!
1500 pounds sounds like a lot. I know you may be correct though. But, Where does all that weight come from? I think if it were my wife and kids I'd tell them to throw some of the junk. Maybe that's why I'm not married and don't have any kids. lol.
Yep it doesn't seem like you would add alot, but after a few trips and "oh ya we'll need this and that", and then next year you'll find something else you need, along with "we'll just leave the blankets and pillows this year because "remember that one trip it got very cold" then don't forget your cookware and.............you can see how it all adds up. We also bring 4 bikes along. Oh and don't forget the 3 tube style TV's. And i have a full size hammok stand and hammok! And enough camp chairs for a small concert! More than enough leveling boards to camp on the side of a mountain. Plenty of hose and shore cable to be 100feet away from hookups (yes been there before).
An RV is like a KOA, Keep On Adding! LOL!
