I have to drive the front of my GRIZZLY 700 onto a set of landscape timbers (3") so the front brush guard rises above my 20" crossover tool box, but the gate closes on my 8' bed.
However, considering most ATV's are loaded with the tailgate down. At some point the entire ATV 600-700 lbs, plus rider, lets say 900-1000 is resting on those ramps---therefore on that tailgate. Once loaded, less than 1/2 the weight (minus occupant) is resting on the gate.
