Nice travelog. The pix, as noted above, are much better in the larger format on your site. The unique flavor of each of your foragings came through loud and clear. For wood gathering, I opted for Brush Pants with Cordura legs, like chaps, from Cabella's to wend my way through the thorny underbrush. They even saved me once when the bar bounced off my leg...while the chain was still moving! I know it was hot, but when i go wood cutting even in hot weather the pants are a good bet.
