Trading in TT with RV dealer

We have had our TT listed on the local market for awhile. No luck so far.. What can I expect if I use it as a trade in from the dealer i'm buying from ?....Is it pretty much the same deal when you trade in a car ?
thanks..

Oh no, the dealer will give you ten times what it is worth and sell you a new one for less than he paid for it!!!!! In your dreams, right? LOL!!!!!!

Really, you are correct, it is very much like trading in a car. The dealer will give you less than it is worth retail, as he will have expenses in preparing it for sale, keeping it on the lot until sold, and then he has to make a profit on the sale of the used unit.
  • Trading in with a dealer will usually net you the lowest price for your TT.
Similar situation when you trade in a car.

IF your objective is to maximize what you can get for your TT - then private sale is the way to go.

I've done both, dealer and private and was happy on both occasions because my requirements were different. When I traded at the dealer, I was more interest in moveing into a new TT with the least amount of hassle. Trade in went smoothly and I drove in with my old TT and drove out with a new TT.
