Traffic on I 55 south
Hello- We are leaving tomorrow morning to Hammond LA / New Orleans. Has any one taken the I-55 from Chicago to New Orleans lately and if so how is the traffic? Lots of construction?:h

West Memphis can be bad traffic wise as 40 (major east/west route) and 55 run the same for a few miles, one need to watch for the signs for 55 south or Jackson, Ms. also the same in Memphis as the turn for 55 south/Jackson can slip up on you if not watching.
At Jackson I would take 220 around Jackson to 20 west a short distance to 55 south.
BTW: 55 not to bad between Memphis to just north of Jackson IMO.
