Trailer accident

A trailer was in an accident outside of Klamath Falls, Oregon.

  • Lucky no one was killed.

I was pulling my trailer last year when a wrong way driver crossed the double yellow line and came right at me. I was able to get on the shoulder and avoid a head-on, but my trailer was not so lucky. The whole side of my trailer was damaged from the front all the way to the rear bumper.

Remember folks there are NO accidents. Every thing is caused by people!:S
  • That stretch of 97 is infamous for head-ons. When I was 21 I was hit head-on in that very area fortunetly I was driving a Chevy Pick-up but the person who crossed into my lane was driving a Honda Civic...she did live :)
  • sad. just a reminder we all need to stay alert out there for the other drivers. Hopefully all will heal ok.
  • Motorhomes don't fair well either.......

Wrecks are inherently dangerous....seat belts, air bags and side crash bags do save lives.
Unfortunately RV's are lacking 'crash safety' items.
  • This is an excellent example of why passengers should not ever be allowed to ride in a trailer (FW). They are not designed for impact. It probably would have been a different outcome if the occupants of the Ford pulling the trailer weren't protected by their seat belts and airbags.

  • No kidding, completely destroyed! Although no discussion of sway here, the oncoming driver crossed the line and hit the RV drivers head on.
