I know this is an old post but on our last trip last year this happened again. The whole trip the brakes were flawless until about 5 miles from home. I had the same wheel locking up everytime i hit the brakes. I had to turn the gain on the controller all the way down and limp it home.
Since spring is coming soon its time to get it fixed. I plan on replacing the brake assembly and magnet on the wheel that is locking up. Since this wheel is the first one in the wiring chain i am just going to redo all the connections to the other brakes as well.
My question is what to use for the wire connectors? The ones currently on the wires are something i have never seen and searching google has done me no good. Traditionally i have used heat shrink connectors on anything outside. Is there anything more robust i should use?
Thanks for any advice!
Todd
