Mother's synthetic marine wax is what I settled on after doing online research a few years ago. I figure if it's good for a harsh marine environment it's got to be good for an RV. Easy to use - just wax on, wax off. No laborious power buffing needed. Doesn't take long on our 29' trailer - after the exterior has had a good wash top to bottom.
I also use Aerospace 303 Protectant on all the decals and plastic trim. It's a highly recommended product by a LOT of RV-ers. I spray some on a rag and wipe the decals with it, then do the waxing afterwards.
