I can understand not having a buddy that has a truck in the Bay Area. I was visiting family in Fremont and had to drive all over town to find a station with diesel for my SUV. I thought that was odd but then I looked around and there wasn't a truck on the road. just Civics, Corollas, Accords and Camrys. Where I live every third vehicle is a truck. Just ruminating. I would call a couple of towing companies and see what they can offer. Even someone with an SUV could back it up a few feet for you. If you need to maneuverer in some tight confines a portable electric dolly might have to be your answer. If you have to wedge it in then it will be then need to be taken out on the pick up end. It might make sense to buy one rather than renting twice. If the ground is flat and hard surface you could put a tongue jack wheel on it and push it around with enough people. Flat, flat flat!
