Anybody have insurance on a trailer towed with a vehicle they don't own? I travel with a friend. I own the trailer and he owns the truck.. I have progressive which I'm happy with (claim for new roof after only 5 months) however my premium is over 500, covering pretty much everything with replacement coverage. Claim process was quick and painless.
Supposedly I'm paying a higher premium because I don't own the tow vehicle with fewer companies willing to write the coverage. Does this seem reasonable? Luckily I paid the full year up front so its not up for renewal until May but with the claim on my record now, who knows what will happen to my premium? It already seems so much higher than what you guys are paying. Anybody have experience with renewal premiums escalating after a large claim?
