Oh come on. That's just not true. The manufacturers are clearly trying to imply length with their model numbers. Although some seem like they want to imply longer than actual, and others want to imply shorter than actual.
Just about every trailer number begins with 2xxx with some 1xxx and 3xxx mixed in. I would bet that there is a very strong correlation between actual box size of a trailer and the first 2 digits of the model number.
The 747 analogy is so far off it can't be anything but a joke.... then again based on the previous conversation who knows.
