Trailer Length/Weight Recommendations
I know this is probably the most frequently asked questions around... But I would like some advice from a few different sources.
I will be towing with a 2002 Chevy Avalanche Z71 1500 4WD.
Based on the manual and specs online, the Tow capacity is 8100 lbs. However I do not know if that is stock limits, or if I should be looking into upgrades or what....
On-board will include the wife, myself, baby, and 2 small (20lb) dogs. Bed of the truck will most likely be lightly loaded, I would want to keep it below the hardcover.
In a perfect world, I would get a travel trailer that is under 30' and under 5000 lbs dry. But I am wondering where your "top end" would be.
Additionally, if you had any suggestions for truck upgrades/etc.
Reason I ask is that I found a Rockwood that is 33', 6000 lbs dry; Thinking that is pushing my limits.
Thank you for your input!!!
