I have a 2010 1500 GMC that has had multiple upgrades such as the gear ratio, upgraded towing package, multiple tranny coolers, programmers etc. and I would never pull anything over 6,000lbs with it. You are just asking for trouble. In my opinion find a unit that has a dry weight around 5,500 lbs. Trust me you will thank me later.
