Trailer novice here, can you help me plug in my TT?

Just bought a 2006 Sun Valley Roadrunner for a trip across America this summer.

I have the trailer at home right now, and would like to plug it in to my house using a regular old extension cord. With my pop up and other TT I've just used an adapter and plugged it all in, no problem.

With this unit though there's a 125v 30amp 3 blade male receptacle that I have never seen, and I have NO idea how to adapt this to 110 household power? Can it be done?

Also, should I disconnect my battery when I do this? Or will plugging it in charge the battery?

So confused, thanks for the help, this is the exact receptacle on the trailer FYI

You are looking for a coiled up SHORE POWER CABLE probably in your pass thru storage area that has these two ends on the 25-foot long cable..

The shore power cable can be purchased at any RV PARTS place maybe even WALMART...

If you purchased this trailer from a RV DEALER it should have been provided.

I did get a cord with the trailer but it's like the picture below, which is what the other TT's I have are like. This doesn't fit the plug on the trailer, I think this pigtail is for a 15amp connection.

I have never seen this 30amp 125v thing that's on my trailer.

  • I believe that's a connector for a generator cord. You should have a power cord hidden in there somewhere...
