Once you go over a certain size, ie, length, height, girth, the actual weight is irrelevant.
I shipped parts UPS and USPS for many years. Actually, a 5 lb fender costing $60 to ship is very possible. It's called "dimensional weight. That fender in a crate might be 5 ft by 2 ft by 4 ft. "Actual" weight might be 7 or 8 lbs.
BUT DIMENSIONAL WEIGHT BASED ON THE DIMENSIONS MIGHT BE 70 LBS!!!!!
That's why most of the "free shipping" stuff on Amazon and Ebay are smaller items that go by ACTUAL WEIGHT.
