Trailer Sway Control

Has anyone used trailer sway control where trailer sway is identified and only the trailer brakes are applied to eliminate the sway?

These trailer sway control devices are new to the market.
They work independent of the TV systems.
In Australia ALKO has released what they call ESC "Electronic Sway Control"
In Europe Alko has released very similar.
In the USA I have tracked down one company but appears to be not on the market yet.
I am reluctant to mention USA brand names as the moderators could see it as advertising / promotion, which it is not.

He's talking about a completely different system than the "sway control" now being built into tow vehicles.

Unless I really am completely behind the times, there are no tow vehicles coming off the showroom floor with brake controllers that automatically sense/react to control trailer sway completely independent of tow vehicle braking.

    That's the Al-ko innovation.

You're correct at least as it relates to Ford. See page 254 here. It only applies the vehicle brakes, not the trailer brakes.

Welcome to the RV NET forums a fellow stalwart from the Caravanners forum. I just hope another "gent" who we constantly spar with on that forum does not turn up here.
  • According to one video, the rep for Tuson said it came about because a rv trailer manufacturer requested it. At $250, if it works, that's not a bad deal. I'd get one.

I checked a couple weeks ago and the Tuson unit is not on the market yet.
