Where did you get this information?
Second, regarding pressure for higher speed. Max cold PSI is the PSI nearly everyone runs in their ST's. And I read those statements as needing 20psi increase to run 76-85mph. Does anyone else?
So increase PSI from what? 10-20psi over max cold? NO WAY?!?!
Then they say it cannot exceed the maximum PSI the tire is rated for. What are they referring to??? Max cold again? That's the only max PSI we as consumer know of. But that's not what they state.
Got it years ago from Maxxis when asking. No, not 20%. 10%. The tire is rated at max load at max cold PSI at 65mph. If you with to drive 76mph-85mph and are currently running lower than max PSI then you increase PSI by 10% and reduce load by 10%. Read again, the statement clearly says not to exceed max PSI rating. PSI ratings are ALWAYs cold unless otherwise specified.
Example: If a trailer weighs 4000lbs, tires rated at 1500lbs each on a tandem axle at 60PSI at 65mph. Run them at 50PSI where they're rated for 1250lbs at 65mph. Increase PSI by 10% to 55PSI, remove extra gear out of trailer by 10% to 3600lbs and tires are now good to 76-85mph. Not that I would tow that fast!
