Trans oil change ?

The OP is completely on track. Nothing saves an auto trans like regular maintenance/fluid change.
Yes, there are quite a few high mile auto trans that never get changed, but a MUCH smaller # than those that do get maint.
I beat on my 2002 Allison 1000 pretty good and with a Transynd change and regular filter changes it was running like the day it left the showroom at 150k when I sold it.
ALthough that's the beauty of a manual trans. At 120k my G56 has now gotten only 2 oil changes with good synthetic oil. Recent change was at 100k. Plan on changing it again in...........about 5 years!

Nope, it's true. In fact Alli will extend the warranty on Med duty truck transmissions if this is done when the truck is new.

I change mine every 30,000 ish in the truck. 4L80E

When I got it did a fluid exchange, not a flush. Pug Dexron VI in it. I have been very happy.

Now I have burnt up some smaller automatics behind a modified engine. The last one was in my supercharged Regal (4T65E HD). I however broke hard parts due to the extra boost and some other go fast parts. Had it redone with good parts and now do the fluid every 15,000 with Dexron VI.

I assume you are happy with that? Or would 120k expiry after pumping $20$ worth of grease, and crawling under it a dozen times be a better tradeoff? I love sealed everything. Instead of being a PITA every 6 months, it gets changed when required. That's progress IMO.

re-read my post...didn't say "ALL", but 'most'

How many quarts of engine oil will ~$28 bucks buy in your locality ?

Bottom line is for 'me', not worth the ~$28 bucks for something I already know
and will spend that ~$28 bucks if suspect something, but then already planning
to rebuild it (love the 'gosh darn' just 'have' to rebuild)

Am old and been (still am) boy racer, wrench/gear-head, etc all my
life. So know enough about my rigs to understand that the oil in
question needs change because it has broken down enough for me to change

When the dash engine oil gauge starts to fluctuate, PSI down a bit
and the biggie...starts to consume...it is time or past time to change

No dash gauge for ATF, so know when the 'smell' and 'color' is off...but
with my every other year flush, it has only happened a couple times
and when knew abused the stuff

All of the OEM and even after market ATF sensors take it from the
test port....but....the lions share of the temp creation is inside
the TC and at the tips/edges of the vanes. So how would one measure
that?

So I like you, flush often and the cost is cheap compared to a rebuild
and/or stuck out in the boonies with questionable service providers...if
they can even be found...

Where can you get all your oil/filters for $28???

I do mine about every 100,000 miles. Its the 4R100. Should hit 360,000 miles by this weekend. About 200,000 of those miles are towing, and average combined weight is probably right around 20,000 pounds (most of my long trips weigh in at 22,000 and I've been over 25,000).

A few years ago a lady in town asked me if I would look at her transmission (98) because it wasn't acting right. I asked when was the last time she chained the fluid in it. She looked at me kinda funny and said .....never... lol I drained the tranny and about a quart of black gue came out...lol needless to say... out went the old and in went the new...transmission that is.

I probably should not have said anything, now I jinxed myself LOL. The truck probably gets less than 100 miles a month now. It is basically a hay/feed hauler for the horses. It runs great but it certainly looks like it has 300k :)
