Had the same issue. I even ducted the air around the bikes into he tranny cooler without any effect. No more bikes up front! Bikes are a PITA. On the rear the see saw movement cucked them into the TT and dented the rear. I placed them inside but they also bounce around. Last few trips, no bikes no problem. We will be upgrading to a pick up and the we will get a bike rack for the bed.
