Transfer Flow

Good evening,

I recently purchased a 2015 F350 Dually. I have about 5500lb CCC. I will be having Transfer Flow (in Chico, CA) install a tank next Friday. I am looking to get a 98 gal bed tank with the MaxFlo system. Curious if anyone would like to share their experience. I know, 98 gallons is a lot, but I have the CCC and there is only $200 difference between that and the 50 gallon tank, so I am figuring go big or go home...

Thanks,
Cale

I have a 50 gal tank. Only problem is it cost $300 to fuel up sometimes. With 38 gal OEM and 50 gal Aux gives me 88+

Not concerned with price to fill up....whether I stop 3 times at $100/fill or 1 time at $300/fill, it is the same....

  • We winter in Casa Grande so when our 05 truck was new we drove to Lake Havasu and had KSH custom build a 55 gal fuel tank that fits behind our tool box and in front of the awesome air hitch. this truck is for towing only so it was our thinking to have the inbed tank when the truck was new and not when it is time to trade again.

  • Had 50 gal trans flow for 10 or so yrs.
    No problems lv it.
Just be carefull of letting fuel sit
Make sure use conditoner and keep filters changed reg,:)
  • Not sure of maxflow as I have tracII on mine. Love being able to get good price on fuel. We are in Pensacola, fl. with a friend and his wife. I have 45 gollons left and he just had to reful at a cost of 3.85 per gallon. Checked on prices and they are 3.45 north of here so will pay for the tank in a couple of yrs.
  • I'm running the 75 gallon bed tank for a total of 109 gallons and the tracII system with no problems. makes people nervous when we leava with "only" a quarter tank and they wonder if I'll make it around the block :B

The MaxFlow is completely stand alone. It looks like I can get an add on gauge to monitor the fuel in the aux tank...I may forgo that, my gallons used is pretty spot on....I should be able to use that, once over 100 gallons, I know my tank should be coming up on empty soon....

Read their handbook today. Looked up the filter part....the NAPA filter is only $4. It will get changed often and I will keep spares around....
  • I have a custom made 50 gal., not a transfer flow, Bed tank. Had to fit it between the bed locker roll up cover and the hitch. Gives me a total of 82 gallons, about 75 usable. For me it wasn't so much about saving money in fill ups, but I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of trying to wheel 67 feet of vehicle in and out of fuel stations every 150 miles. Now I can fill up after I've settled for the night. That right there makes it worth every penny I spent.

Could have gone with transfer flow, but with their shipping I got a better deal locally.
  • sounds to me like in your case I would say go for it it

doesn't cost that much more and you put a fuel conditioner some type in the fuel you should be fine

since you're going with a bigger tank you might just go with the biggest one that you can fit......I.E...go as big as you can....;)

I agree!! I remember doing a cross country last summer (PCS FL to CA), coming out of 4-Corners and surrounding areas, we actually saw quite a few folks out of fuel and highway patrol delivering fuel. We had a TH at the time with a pump station, so we were able to help someone, but I want to do it right for us...
