It needs to be supported on the bottom, where it normally rides. If supported correctly, and tied down correctly, there shouldn't be any issues. Folks mount TCs on the front of flatbed trailers all the time and use the rear for a Jeep or other toys. I can't see much of a difference between the TC being mounted on a flatbed trailer or on a flatbed truck.
