G'day there. We bought a TC (2002 Summerwind 911S) in Sacramento and had it freighted all the way down here on a 6x2 constructed platform that spread the load for the fork to pick up, carpeted support for the overhang and was strapped down real nice...no damage from this. The legs were touching the platform but only as stabilizers. 6 weeks at sea and then moved around the port of entry, still no damage, until I got there and we knocked one of the legs lifting it off the platform...my fault. Go ahead, do what your gut says to do, that way you should be happy.
