Travel Lite 700 Sport on a F250?

I know you really want a medium or heavy duty truck when hulling a TC. My Travel Lite 700 Sport is only 1246lbs and I have been carrying it on my enhanced 2010 F150 4x4 for the last 5 years and towing a 5000lb boat and it has been fine. Now I am looking for a new truck and considering a 2012 Diesel F250 4x4 which would be more suited.

Many times it is tight getting it on the F150 and I understand many need to add a deck to create enough clearance due to the higher cab on the F250/350.

The question is whether the camper goes high enough to get in the bed of a F250 that sits higher then a F150 (which I assume is no)? Has anyone used this setup and what do/did you do?
  • Yup. Blocks.

I cut up a couple of cheap 2x6's and nailed them together to create four 4x6 blocks that I put under each jack. Otherwise it's a real "squeaker" getting the camper back in the bed.
  • Thanks for the response, I figured the answer would be to use blocks. Just wanted to check. At least I won't have to worry about weight if I get this truck so additional blocks should be no issue.
  • My camper doesn't lift very high, not high enough to get it onto my F350 4x4. I use 4x6 wood blocks about a foot long each and stack them 3 high under the jacks to lift the camper high enough to get it on the truck. I did the same with my previous camper and the same truck. It looks precarious at first, but it works fine and I've never had a scary moment using the blocks under the jacks.
