It didn't freeze at 45 degrees. It probably blew a fitting. It happens even with pressure regulator use. It can happen to new rigs and it can happen after 15 years. Its always interesting to hear RV store owners stories after befriending them and not being in a dealer/customer setting. :)
I also do what Tequila does as I trust nothing. I always shut off the water pump and turn off campground water when leaving for even a short time. I'd rather be doing a shot or two of Patron than cleaning up a water logged RV.
In fact I just bought 2 more water detectors at Home Depot yesterday.
