Hey Shadow -- not trying to hijack the thread or nit pick with you but your post can lead people down the wrong road. An insurance company is NOT responsible for the actual repair of any covered object. Usually, insurance companies have the option to repair a covered object but they typically just pay for the loss sustained. In other words, the Insured has to prove that he has suffered more loss (financially) than what has already been allotted.
This simplest way to do that is to find another trailer repair shop. A good insurance company will even provide names of shops in the area that can do this type of repair. The owner, and the new shop, should provide a list of still-damaged and poorly-repaired items. If the new list of work and the amount of the first repair exceed 50 to 75 percent of the Actual Cash Value of the trailer (before the loss)the Insured should ask for a manager at the Insurance company to review for a possible total loss.
