Unfortunately that was an issue with the 2007 HRs and you are now the 4th person with a cracked front cap in the last 7 years. The Cap is ABS and is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to repair and I strongly suggest you do the drill hole thing yesterday if not sooner. I would also make sure the hole is large enough to relieve any potential for further cracking or you might end up with it looking like mine did overnight .....


HERE is the most recent thread with the previous three owners who have had issues.
Mine was actually replaced back in 2008 under warranty and I have had no further issues with it. If I ever do have a problem I think I would go the route of removing the CAP and replacing it with a sheet of Filon after appropriate back bracing was installed. Of course the insurance aspect has to be considered in what one would actually do.
