Thanks for all the good comments. I suppose if you did not need AC any small generator would do everything else you need? I made a mistake last week and ended up in heat for 3 days which is rare for me. I may just forget the generator and plan my trips better and stay where it is cool. I feel sorry for folks that live in hot climates and have no other camping option.

No need to feel sorry for us, we love it hot. That's what the beach and the freshwater Spgs are for add a little shade and we fire up the A/C when not in the water. - mtnman1989ExplorerThanks for all the good comments. Most of our trips I set the EU3000 Honda in the back of my P/Up bed and run my A/C etc from there. Other times I take only my EU2000 Honda if I know I will not be using my A/C
I do that also except I always have my 2k honda with me. It fits nicely in the cargo space compartment or just inside the door and the 3k Honda is always in my truck.
I would give up my 2k Honda before I would the 3k. - TequilaExplorer

two Honda 2000s and parallel kit
Ditto, I only have to pull both out if I run the A/C. - samsontdogExplorerMost of our trips I set the EU3000 Honda in the back of my P/Up bed and run my A/C etc from there. Other times I take only my EU2000 Honda if I know I will not be using my A/C
- TucsonJimExplorer IIHonda 3000is runs mine fine. However, one day it kept kicking on the overload when I put on the A/C. It took me a while figure it out, but I'd left the electric coffee machine on and the heating element was drawing a lot of current. Once I shut the coffee pot off, it was good again.
- JiminDenverExplorer IIWe use a Champion 3500/4000 because it has the power to do the job at the altitudes we camp at. Too loud in my opinion for most campgrounds but great for boondocking.
- Jayco23FBExplorerI have a 1350 BTU AC. I use 2 Yamaha 2000s with a parallel kit. I like having the 2 2000s as they are easier to move around and I can run only one if I don't need to run the AC. I also intalled a hard start kit on my AC unit which allows the AC unit to start from the generators much easier.
