Yeah, only if the dealer is an idiot. Not sure how many of you own your own business, but word of mouth and Social Networking can be huge advantage, or huge disadvantage. After a few sales like that, the dealer would be out of business.
And rightly so. You cannot just go running around breaching contracts. And yes I own my own business.
I understand your frustration. I am just providing the counter point. I have no idea why the dealer took the stance they did but there must be a reason. As you stated it is almost always better to have some sort of compromise. Maybe they get too many tire kickers that change their mind. Maybe they get too many poor credit individuals that cannot get financing after they commit. In any case it stings and no one can fault you for that feeling.
