If you're looking in the same size range, I think you may be disappointed in the "lighter to pull" department. Trailers have gotten heavier over the years for various reasons. According to this link, your 28 footer weighs about 5500 pounds dry. That's probably what's known as "lightweight" or even "ultralightweight" in today's trailer-marketing parlance!
More typical weights are similar to the Keystone 29 footer mentioned by Fla-Gypsy a couple posts back. According to Keystone the Hornet 29RLS weighs over 6500 pounds dry, a thousand pounds more than the same-length trailer you're pulling now.
And that's before you've put so much as a drop of water in it...
