Travel Trailer Tilt

I know it isn't going to tip over but I have a Propride hitch so I'm more concerned with the twist where the stinger connects the truck and trailer.

In rough numbers, the unit will tip over, when the high side corner tips past the low side tires.

Take a 2x4 on edge an see how far you can tip it before it falls over.

This is a simple example that ignores the suspension etc. but you can see it is quite a bit of tilt. Also a TT is closers to a 4x4 but you get the idea.

My trailer is stored on a 15 degree angle. Its been fine for the last 3 years.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm not sure about the 3" measurement. All I know is the Truck is level since it's still on the street and the camper while backing in to my driveway is at a 15-20 degree tilt for those 30 feet until the two passenger side wheels get on the driveway. There are no sharp edges. it's a blacktop street and driveway so the edges are rounded over. We don't store it there but use the driveway to pack/unpack for trips so it's not such a long haul back and forth from our designated pad.

I agree with the others, three inches is nothing.

The area where I'm parking my trailer dips 13" over 11 feet, other than making sure the fridge isn't running I have no problems with it. I just built a railroad tie retaining wall and I'm going to get 40 ton of stone delivered so we don't have to use the leveler or worry about the fridge but 3" of drop certainly wouldn't concern me in the least.

3" is nothing to worry about - as said, if only all campsites were that level.......

What might be a worry is how sharp is the edge of the concrete when you go off of it and back up again - is it going to damage the tire sidewall if the tire is running beside it?

Three inches, really? You'll encounter campsites that have more tilt than that. It's really not an issue at all.

My truck and 5vr have been in a 2' ditch (driverside) when attempting to back into a very narrow 90* entrance off of a very narrow CG roadway.

Talk about TILT :B
