Bummer. Sears and Discount Tire seems to be the re-seller in my neck of the woods. Although, I did get Belle Tire to get em for me.

Never have used Maxxis, but I have over 20 years experience and use of the GY Marathon TT tire (1996 to present) and one set of the Kumho 857s and am a firm believer in the GY Marathons. A HUGE ADVANTAGE of these is you can get them at almost any WM anywhere and many, many more tire and RV dealers than any of the other brands.

Proper inflation, speed, and avoiding damaging the tires from road hazards, potholes, curbing, etc. are 100X more important than the brand of tire as long it's not ACME or has Wiley the Coyote on it's label.

Your tire saga is an interesting read for sure.
I did go with the heavier 205/R14's which has a max load of 2271# verses the 2094# and 1874# for the 195 and 185's. My trailer weighs 7200 to 7400# all loaded up, so I should have at least 1,600# of extra capacity. I'm hoping for the best.

I bought a tire monitor before my last long trip and it saved me from destroying one of the truck tires due to low pressure in the middle of Nebraska. It turned out to be a broken valve stem. Ironically, it turns out that the tire monitor sensors are heavy and are breaking the valve stems. Just bought all metal stems for both the truck and trailer. I found them here at Amazon if anyone is interested in these. Plus they are nice and shiny if you want some Bling. :C

Have several trips on the Carlisle RH tires and very happy with them. The key is the loading on the tires. How close to the weight ratings are you when loaded?

Just purchased 14 inch Carlisle HD at Discount Tire. Pricey @100.00 per tire. Time will tell. Excited about having a radial and higher speed rating. Originals were bias and gave me a solid 18k miles trouble free.

I'll vote for Maxxis also. I had them on my previous camper for 5 years, and I've had them on my boat for 4 years, and they've been great. The new camper has some no name tires, I'm gonna gamble with them for a year or so, then replace with Maxxis.

There are only 2 brands of 14" ST tires worth considering; Maxxis and Kumho.
Both are quality ST tires, neither are made in China.
I've used Maxxis on my last 3 trailers. They are, in mine and many peoples' opinion, the best ST tire on the market.
Be sure to have your new tires balanced, too.

Many good reviews on these forums with Maxxis tires. And at least one model of the Carlise tires seems to be a good trailer tire.
