- SpeedogomerExplorerModern trailers with slides really rarely have issues. You read a lot of slide issues on these forums because no one comes to the forums to say "hey my slides work just fine". You only hear about the problem slides. I'm sure for every 1 slide problem, there's 50 without problems.
Our family has several RVs, almost all with slides. In the last 5 years our camping circle has owned approximately 15 RVS all with slides. Not one with a problem. - chracatoaExplorer

Features like ducted air conditioning, two separate rooms, enclosed tanks, heated tanks, more insulation - tend to come on trailers with slides because of the cost of those features puts them into a price range above the 'entry level'.
Mine was my first trailer and it is an entry level model with a slide. We paid less than 19k. 26BH was around 17k though at the time. - Dog_FolksExplorer

Manufacturers only produce what sells. As slides have been offered for over 25 years, I doubt they are "newbie" bait.
I appreciate your position, I resisted slides for a number of years, because every used unit I looked at with slides, showed leakage.
Modern slides do no seem to have the problem when the seals are maintained. - NanciLExplorer IIThanks for all the replies.
The reason I asked is because I never see any newer ones with out slides.
Ours is a fairly new 26 footer with no slides and it has everything the both of us would want in a travel trailer.
Queen size bed, good size bathroom including a short tub, and naturally a shower. Not only a dinette, but a sofa that converts to another bed.
A couple of years ago we just for the heck of it looked at a 26 footer with slides, and it had less room in it then ours and cost 10K more.
Makes me wonder if the TT mfgrs are not trying to sell a bill of goods to newbies.

This past spring we bought a 26' Bunk House model from Grey Wolf. We were intentionally looking for one without slides and like this model a lot. Less weight, less maintenance and less chance for leakage.
I'm with AirForceAngler, the DW and I bought the exact same model for the same reason. There are several out there without slides. - DesertHawkExplorerYep, as many have written, they are still being made. We were considering one made by Nash. Related to Arctic Fox (also a Northwood). Didn't get as far as going to take a look at one, however. Decided on going with a Lance with a slide. All Lance trailers have slides.
We also looked at a Jayco without a slide at a dealership. http://www.jayco.com/products/travel-trailers/2015-jay-flight-slx/floorplans-and-prices/
We have just returned from two weeks camping trip in Alaska in a rented Springdale 198 TT without a slide. A very well made & constructed trailer, it seemed to be. Floor plan was workable, but it didn't have a queen bed. It had a full bed with a bunk above it in side an alcove which made it difficult for me to use it. Almost impossible for to get out of it with someone sleeping with me. Not bad just with me using it, which is what we had to do.
Springdale West Coast Models None without slides listed on East Coast Models.
Couldn't get the Nash site to open this morning, but found this demo video featuring a Nash, but not the one we were interested in, which had a queen sized bed. This one has the same floor plan as the Springdale we had in Alaska.
Good luck with your quest. - WyoTravelerExplorer

Are there any travel trailer manufacturers that still make trailers without slides?
In the past few years it seems that there are no new ones in any of the RV dealers we have stopped at.

Jayco makes the 23RB Jayflight without slides and Northwood makes the 23G Artic Fox without slides. - JiminDenverExplorer IIAmeri-lite still has some in the 21-24 ft range. They use to have our 25 ft and a 27 ft too but they were discontinued this year.
- Gr8lifeExplorer IIPuma has a 25RS which has a separate bedroom, ducted air, etc., with no troublesome slides. I have had a few trailers with slides but prefer trailers without them.
- bgumExplorerI think 2009 was last Airstream built with a slide so Airstreams have no slides.
Slides while giving more space cause a lot of problems. Just read the boards for the list of problems. They also add weight.
