traveling to Maine

Wife & I planning to visit Maine this summer.Looking at trip planning with the Sams Club and I see a lot of warning about bridge height & construction around NY area .A truck driver said just take RT 95 all the way up,no problem. Have a 28ft TT, so now I am conflicted on best way to go. Leaving from Maryland, would appreciate any input, especially from those who have done this route.
  • My suggestion - Chestertown is on the east side of Chesapeake Bay. Head north on local roads to I95 to the NJ Turnpike. Near Woodbridge NJ, take I287 to the NY Thruway north to I84 to the Mass Turnpike, then I495 around Boston to join I95 into New Hampshire and Maine.

Zero low bridges or tunnels on this route.
