When we left our TT to drive the Road to the Sun in 2014, we were advised to pull in our towing mirrors to prevent "mirror slaps" with oncoming vehicles. It was a very scenic ride, full of twists and sharp turns. The DW was a bit nervous on the return ride as the view was straight down out of her window.
Back at camp our neighbor with a conversion van damaged the passenger side running board on a low rock when he cut a curve short.
We got to experience a mirror slap as passengers in one of the red tourist cars when a pick up with mirrors extended caught our tourist car mirror. The driver said it was common and as only a problem when the mirror shattered and dropped in their lap.
The east end is high plains dessert on the Blackfoot reservation the west end is temperate rain forest. To get our TT from one side of the park to the other was a 100 mile trip around the south end of the park. We spent almost a week there including a jaunt up to the portion in Canada.
Back to the OPs original question. Our trips last 3 to 6 weeks, we find our 25 footer perfect for us but we do not have kids. We found reservations a must at State and National Parks almost everywhere during the tourist season and even private CGs can be a bit crowded.
Good luck.
