TRAVELING WITH PETS

I am new to RVing and am considering purchasing a small travel trailer with expandables. Is it possible to have the A/C running off of a 12V battery in the trailer and then allow the dogs to travel in the trailer while being hauled?

  • Our three Chihuahuas ride in the truck with us, two in the back floorboard of the truck and the "Queen" Gypsy lays on a folded blanket on the center console. It is a little bumpy and to hot in our area for any time in the TT. But the AC is 110 volts AC and the battery is only 12 volts DC you will need generator to run the AC. They will probably feel better and less nervous riding in the vehicle with "Mom and Dad" anyway
  • Thanks to all of you who replied. Your advise is much appreciated.
  • If u have ever seen a TT crash they usualy pick up most of the mess with a broom and dust pan i wouldnt ride animal or human in one. Thats my 2 cents.
  • Nope. You need a generator. It gets rather bumpy in the trailer while going down the road. I wouldn't let my dog ride in the trailer. He rides in the truck while we drive and goes in the trailer when we stop somewhere while enroute to our destination.
