I leave it on...
I'm driving with a tank full of gas in my truck, the risk of fire is already very high in a collision, I'm not concerned of the added risk of a propane leak and fire.
Note: I'm also an industrial gas fitter, I've seen when propane and natural gas goes wrong and I'm still not convinced that the danger of an open propane tank valve is a big deal.
Safer with it off, but not that big of a risk with it on.
