traveling with water tows better?

21' hybrid, 24' travel trailer, 19' travel trailer - all towed with 5.3L GM 1/2 ton trucks running the same axle, the same 4 spd transmission, and all towed "better" with the fresh water tank filled. In each case I could always tell the trailer was towing "heavier", 'though never enough to deter me from towing with a full tank. :)
