As far as towability, They can both be made to tow equally as well. Yes you may have to adjust the hitch or buy the right hitch but that applies to both types.
A 5'er generally requires a larger truck. But again there are smaller 5'ers for smaller trucks. Either way for optimum performance you need to properly match your combo. A fiver has a huge amount of basement storage vs. a TT however the TT has the bed of the truck available. A TT can be towed by a SUV or something other than a pick up.
Fiver's generally have taller ceilings and step on the interior, but floorplans can be very similar otherwise.
While there are differences in the end the experience yoiu ultimately have in either will be about the same
