You need more than a trickle charger if expecting a charge the chassis battery during limited generator hours. I suggest a portable 10 to 20 amp automatic charger.
I assume you have a Trik-L-Start or equivalent combiner as the chassis battery stays charged when plugged in continuous.
Best to verify what you have and that all systems are functioning. Also post what converter you have as some are slow at charging.
