This was obviously a fast trip but it was a good one. I was loaded very heavy but was able to make good speed depending on the road conditions, of course.
  • Yes, seems like a very quick trip. Shows what can be done if needing to or wanting to.
  • Geewizard, is this the move to the lower 48 you have been talking about?

You certainly didn't let any grass grow underfoot on the way down.

I guess a guy can stand only so much Alaska adventure. :)
  • They need to do a reality TV series on going to Alaska in a TC. That would have lots of interest and pics.
  • You made a trip down from Alaska and only have one picture of it.

We got back from Alaska a little less than a month ago and we took over 9000 pictures between my wife and I. I took almost a 1000 one day on a tour of the Columcia Glacier in Valdez. We ran into some Orcas and a humpback whale and I had my camera set to sports action shots so as fast it it took one picture it took another one. I have some of a male Orca coming up about 10' off the side of the tour boat.
  • Sometimes spending too much time on pictures won't allow time enough to soak up the real trip's experience.
Besides why can't we have some places left unexposed and remain a surprise for the next guy?
  • You can do better than that. When I bought my TC they wanted me to mail them a MO. I said I will get there before the Check. I drove from GH MI to Crestline Ca in 2 days solo with a dog. I slept 4 hours that night. Couple years ago I wanted to get home so I drove from New Mexico to GH MI in one sitting. I stopped at a Long John Silvers (my favorite seafood place) in St Louis, gas and pee. I think that run was 27 hrs. I enjoy driving. I often run to S Fla straight but thats only about 16 hours. I pack a cooler with snacks and sandwiches, soda, bring a thermos of coffee and roll.
  • No pictures right now, sorry. Besides, what's there to see other than miles and miles of miles and miles of trees and mountains and lakes?

Butch50, that "one" picture in my signature was taken in 2004, not this trip.

Keep in mind that this Trip Report is tongue-in-cheek. I cannot hold a candle to those of you who fully document your trip with (9000?) pictures. And my trip was solely for the purpose of getting there as fast as possible. So I could go to work at my new job.
