Do your kids have any idea how lucky they are? The rest of us plan and scheme and save for years to get up to Alaska to spend a few weeks, and they LIVE where the rest of us vacation. Plus, they belong to a family not afraid to get outdoors -- they are not stuck in a shopping mall or in front of a computer. Someday, they will look back on this time in their lives as the good old days.
Well done!
My Oldest does appreciate living in Alaska. They were all born in San Diego, while I was stationed there in the USN at Point Loma Submarine Base. He still remembers San Diego, and when we would take our old TT to Coronado. That was our favorite beach camping spot at Silver Strand State Beach. He spent all of Jr Hi and High School in Kodiak, and started and completed his Boy Scout Eagle Scout here in Kodiak. He has spent the last two seasons set-net fishing for Salmon at a remote set-net site. He really will miss all this when he joins the Marine Corps in the fall....
