Trip report, Overland Expo East
As promised, I took a lot of pictures. I'm not a good narrator so I'll let the pics do most of the talking.
Some of the highlights.
Every type of rig imaginable. A Big Boys (and Gals) Toys dream.
Spent some quality time with silversands and silverdunes (great couple)
Got to meet Rory Willet and check out his new camper(s)
Got to check out some 1/2 ton compatible rigs I might want in the future.
Got to see some rigs I'll never buy but love to look at.
Met forum member hodag and got to check out his Outfitter.
Met Gordon and Angela from TCM
Met Brian (btggraphix), fulltiming now and taught a couple of classes, great guy.
Truck campers that I recall.(camping) Avion, Bigfoot, FWC's (a lot), Camplight, Northern Lite, Outfitter, Pine Mountain, XPcamper, Alaskan, Lance, Chalet, and a happy new Northstar popup owner.
Some downsides.
Weather, we had rain, wind and a heavy frost. Didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirit.
At one point they had to close the upper camping area due to the slick hill.
Not many Truck Camper manufacturers in the exhibit area.
After my recent brake failure, I paid attention to the runaway truck ramps on I-26.
Friday clouds and rain

The organizers rig

They closed this road right after I went up.

A Bigfoot on a Fuso

These guys repeatedly rolled the Landrover on it's side and showed different recovery methods, at the end it RAN.

My camping spot

A custom XPCAMPER

My neighbors :)

The clouds slowly moved out.

Our very own Brian.

Several Tigers.

An over the top Earthroamer tailgating edition, even had an outside tv, did you buy it silverdunes?? :)

Another XP

L to R, My rig, Hodag's, Gordon and Angela (TCM) and silversands.

Rory Willet's new Freedom Camper http://www.freedomtruckcampers.com/ He also represents Bundutec, http://www.bundutecusa.com/

And of course the weather turned perfect for the ride home. ;)

I'll add some more pics later.
