Truck bed cover for towing 5er

I want to purchases a bed cover for my truck that I can leave on the truck whether I'm towing the 5er or not. Sounds like its between a roll up vs. fold up. Don't want vinyl. Any suggestions? Don't want the pin assembly to interfere with the bed cover.
  • I went with a Bak Flip which works great. Some of the other brands and styles seemed a bit better but far more expensive. The Bak Flip is very well made and easy to install. It doesn't completely seal so rain drips on the corners but a dab of caulking on the mounting rails should fix that.
  • I have a Pace Edwards Full Metal Jackrabbit cover. As long as your hitch and handle are below the bed rails it covers it fine. Locks every 6" so you can pull it back near the hitch when towing to hide anything you may have in the bed in front of the hitch.!
  • I've purchased 3 Roll-N-Lock covers for our Dodge and Sierra and have been very satisfied with them.

Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!:)
  • I have the Retrax cover. I love the ability to pull it shut and lock the bed up. I have experienced no interference problems yet and it covers the Reese hitch just fine. The one thing I don't like is the box that the cover rolls in to takes up a little more space than I would ultimately think is ideal, but I don't carry a lot of stuff in the bed while traveling.

I used the FOLD-A-COVER here. This also gives me a tool box just behind the rear window. Everything folds up behind the rear window and works well with the 5th wheel hitch.

When not using the the 5th Wheel it covers the whole bed and is lockable...

You can do something like this and it all closes up and locks when not using the fifth wheel..

I have moved my hard plastic folding bed cover from two trucks so far... The company sells repair kits for the rubber seals etc. I got my original one in 2004... Still using it. Replaced the rubber seals once. Always dry as a bone inside the truck bed when closed up...

  • A couple of 5th wheel owners have had covers made with holes for the pinbox to fit through. I've seen vinyl as well as fiberglas versions with snap on or zip on covers for the hole.
  • Lots of brands will work well. Fold-A-Cover is but one brand.
  • I have the B&W hitch that fits under my Rollbak cover. It is open while towing and closed as soon as I am unhitched. I don't have to take it off at anytime and everything is secured well while unhitched. So far, no problems.
