Truck Bed Weight

I would like to know how much an 8' truck bed weighs on a 2021 Ford F-350, they are made of aluminum these days.

I want to weigh that (pardon the pun) against the weight of a custom aluminum flat bed with storage boxes which the vendor estimates would weigh 1,000lbs.

Thanks!!

I've been quoted by Alum-line that a flatbed with boxes under and on top would weigh about 1K#'s

Four healthy average people can easily lift the stock bed off the truck. 100lbs is a struggle for most people, so I would estimate the weight of the bed at 400lbs or less. The custom flatbed is going to weigh significantly more.

That's been my guess and I don't want to rob cargo carrying capacity from what I already have with the standard bed.

  • You will save the weight of the sides but you will still need the weight for the flatbed. You can easily find the Ford specs. Weight savings is a bit less than 250#.
  • The steel bed on my dually can't be more than 500#. I imagine your aluminum unit is a bit lighter? I was shocked at how not heavy it was.
