I've got an old Honda Shadow 500 street bike and a KLR 250 dual sport. Neither would work for you (the KLR actually fits me better than the Shadow, which is super cramped, and I'm only 5'8"). No real suggestions on bike model but just wanted to say if you like camping and riding, the dual sport is a great way to go. I'm looking to sell my street bike but wouldn't give up the dual sport. Lots of places I camp have dirt roads forever just waiting to be explored, and of course they're also handy for running into town for supplies.
Also congratulations for taking the MSA (I assume that's similar to the MSF). I took the basic and advanced MSF courses about 11 years ago and can't say enough good things about them. Probably saved my life more than once.
