I do not love camping in a tent. Actually I prefer not to. I prefer my TC. Unfortunately, there are places to see and things to do that my TC is not an option. So, I do the tent thing.
I prefer a cot rather than the ground. My Tent Cot has the cot, pad, tent, and rain fly. It sets up or tears down in less than 5 minutes. With the legs, I do not need a smooth place for my sleeping comfort. Critters must climb about 12-inches to sleep with me, and that is assuming I leave the no seeum screens open.
As for the tent cot on top of the Samurai, there are camping areas where it is worth considering. Maybe flash flood areas, bear country, alligator country, less potential to encounter snakes, scorpions or other ground level critters. Probably, for me, just simply cause I can. :B
