I had a dramatic lesson in speed vs. mileage, not on a truck or motorhome, but on a car. I had 2 tires with belt separation and had to wait a couple of days for new tires. If I drove over 55, the tires would shake and rattle and it was uncomfortable and dangerous, so I kept it to less than 55. My mileage (2006 Caddy with a 3.6 V6) went from 21 avg to 32 avg.
YMMV.
That is not dramatic.
Years ago driving car across the country I was bored driving on Nebraska I80 and did some tests when I was setting CC at certain speed.
Going from 28 to 49 mpg did not take much.
